I have SOMETHING to say!

Welcome to “I have SOMETHING to say,” where subject matter experts are unafraid and unapologetic about sharing their perspectives regarding issues that impact our lives. They speak up because they give a shit. If you’re tired of canned answers and want to FINALLY hear real people cut through the B.S. and talk about real issues, this podcast is for you.

Supplier Diversity doesn't work anymore. In this episode of I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY I invite Nadia Carmino, Founder and CEO of Alliance One Management Consulting to discuss the need for an overhaul of Procurement processes to deliver Supplier EQUITY. And what does this look like? Supplier Equity is an Equitable Engagement Experience (SE3) that publicly demonstrates a company’s efforts and commitments to racial equality, inclusion, and social responsibility. We are forming a supplier equity advocacy coalition that considers the business implications of systemic racism in procurement processes and is determined to offer up and implement new solutions capable of closing the widening opportunity gap. Through this effort, Black and Latino vendors look to partner with corporations to pilot new ways of doing business with people of color that are collaborative, innovative, sustainable, and profitable. Corporate America will experience greater innovation, creativity and productivity when partnering with diverse suppliers because companies are exposed to a range of UNTAPPED skills and perspectives from diverse backgrounds. Together, we will craft a viable new alternative to eliminate barriers that prevent businesses owned by people of color from bidding for private and public contracts at the pace they should.
