As we approach the 2019 Come Out with Pride Festival in Orlando taking place October 12th starting at 12noon in Downtown Orlando, I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY talks with Gina Duncan, State Director of Transgender Equality at Equality Florida to discuss how the rollback of rights and protections for the LGBTQ+ community are creating very dangerous situations and at times fatal outcomes:  “One of the most heinous things that just recently came out was this Administration’s rollback of equal access in homeless shelters, and when you think about that, it’s attacking one of our most vulnerable communities in their most vulnerable time. So we have transgender people asked to mandatorily evacuate homeless shelters when hurricanes come through so it’s especially prevalent in his time of the year, and they are being turned away from the homeless shelters due to their gender status.
