SEE THE BIG PICTURE – is the theme of the virtual 2020 Global Peace Film Festival taking place Sept. 21 – Oct. 4. I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY talks to its Founder Nina Streich about how they shifted an event that takes place in Orlando to an online platform. “While the pandemic has been a challenge, we’ve also seen it as an opportunity for creative and expansive thinking,” she shares. Since 2003, the festival has envisioned “peace” not as the absence of conflict but as a framework for channeling, processing, and resolving conflict through respectful and non-violent means. It draws filmmakers and filmgoers from all walks of life into a community of people inspired to take action in their daily lives to leave the world a more peaceful place than they found it. This year they are doubling down on their values of access, equity, inclusivity, and independence, reimagining the Global Peace Film Festival during these extraordinary times.
