Proud daughter of immigrants. U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Community organizer. Activist. Wherever she goes, she moves swiftly and effectively like the skilled warrior she is. Tristeza Ordex-Ramírez joins me in this episode of I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY. A mutual friend said I absolutely MUST meet this woman who recently moved to Orlando. She speaks truth to power unapologetically. Her convictions and purpose are grounded in first-hand experiences: from working as a farmworker in her teens to being subjected to the oppression and inequities faced by women in the military. After serving her country for a decade, Tristeza began the journey of investing her time, energy, talents, and resources towards social justice and youth empowerment. She’s now working with a local High School in a mainly Black and Hispanic neighborhood on an internship program. Up to 100 students will work with local nonprofits to complete their required community hours to graduate. They will also receive a pair of new sneakers of their liking. We invite everyone who can make a donation to cover a pair of sneakers.
